Ongoing Series where we tackle the specific skills needed to master one trail
Trail: HEMLOCK EPOCH
Sunday June 25th, 9:30am-1pm
In this series of skills clinics, we’ll pick one trail to master at a time. We’ll cover the essential skills needed to be great on this one trail.
Kanuga’s Hemlock Epoch is a black rated tech trail. To be great on this trail, you’ll need to great at handling drops of different shapes and size. Some are natural drops with flat take-offs, some have uphill ramps to small gaps. We’ll cover the skills needed to handle drops of different size and shape individually in a controlled environment and apply them on Hemlock itself.
For maximum experience for this clinic, take the Intro to Drops clinic on Saturday June 17th!
This clinic is appropriate for all level riders wanting to gain more control, confidence, and have more fun on this specific trail. Learn how to master this trail with intentional bike driving techniques instead of just surviving it!
Newer riders will be introduced to intentional techniques to get down the trail in control with confidence.
Intermediate and advanced level will benefit from refining their fundamental skills while learning ways to carry speed while maintaining control and traction.
Josh Whitmore is our head coach and one of the highest certified and most experienced mountain bike instructors in the country.
We’ll start with an intro to listen to your previous experience and goals, then set expectations and a plan for the clinic
Then, we’ll move into a skills assessment and work through the essential skills needed to master this trail in a separate controlled environment.
After we refine our skills in a controlled environment like the skills area we’ll take to the trail and session some of the common features found on the trail.
Lastly, we’ll apply it on the trail itself to practice what we’ve learned.
