Learn how to do mid air tricks like whips or tables
Saturday May 20th, 9:30-11:30am
Part of our Spring Jump Jam event: Are you feeling pretty comfortable on the Tortuga Jump line and want to learn more mid air style? Are your straight air skills looking pretty good and wonder what’s next to keep progressing?
This clinic is a great intro how to progress through some basic mid-air tricks like whips and tables. During the clinic, we’ll focus on some of the fundamental elements of making the bike move in the air and lead you through a series of drills to build whips and tables.
Riders should be previously comfortable on Blue Rated Jump trails such as Tortuga prior to attending this clinic.
Hang out afterwards to play on our airbag and listen to the DJ while the jump/trick contest happens.
This clinic is appropriate for riders already comfortable with straight air on blue rated jump trails like Tortuga.
This is a great clinic to learn how to start performing whips and tables while in the air
This clinic is taught by our Head Coach – Josh Whitmore. Josh is a Professional Mountain Bike Instructor Certified Level 3 coach, and an Instructor-Trainer for Level 2 “Air” coaches.
We’ll start with an intro to listen to your previous experience and goals, then set expectations and a plan for the clinic
Then, we’ll move into a skills assessment and move through the essential pre-requisite skills including Body Position / Balance and creating effective “Press and Absorb” technique.
We’ll spend a lot of time on the individual practice jump in the skills area, as well as the green jump line next to the shop. Depending on level of the group, we also may use Tortuga trail. As always, we need to dial back the challenge of the terrain to be able to actually practice new things!
